My first time hiking Golica (1835m), a peak super close to home.
A quick hike from Vrsic pass to Slemenova spica with my good mate.
We visited Soča valley again. This time we were somewhat elevated above it.
I joined my friends for a day trip to Notranjska, a region towards the southwest of Slovenia.
A simple walk around Lake Bled.
A 2-day trip in the valley of luscious landscapes and vintage towns.
As we were heading home from Prlekija we stopped at Ptuj, visited its castle and drove to a beautiful baroque manor Statenberg.
Prlekija is a region in northeastern Slovenia. Since it’s quite distant from Gorenjska, it’s an area we don’t visit often. We were pleasantly surprised though.
A collection of snapshots from two summer trips to Štanjel and the surrounding region.
Rakov Škocjan is a picturesque karst valley, formed by the sinking and collapsing of a cave ceiling. We visited this breathtaking place on our way home from the seaside. An education trail leads through the valley with various points of interest; from old ruins to natural sights.
Just a couple of shots of this magnificent castle, located not far from the famous Postojna Cave.
A quick trip to the botanical garden in Sezana as we drove by. It was closed at the time but the gardeners let us in since they were working and we had the whole garden to ourselves.
The hidden Pokljuška soteska Gorge is located close to Bled. The gorge was carved by glacial waters approximately 10,000 years ago.
It was a sunny afternoon just after New Year’s. We took our dog for a walk at Lake Bohinj. We circled from Ribcev Laz to Stara Fuzina for a cup of coffee at Majer’ca, a new boutique hotel. We then drove to Ukanc for some frosty vibes and finished with an amazing burger at Foksner.
A few days off in October again. This time we booked a cottage just by the river Soča. We spent lots of time inside, reading books, tending the fire and hanging out with our dog. We also explored the area as much as the weather allowed us.
Autumn approaches. A combined blog post with two hikes around Vršič Pass.
It’s been a while since I updated my journal. We adopted a dog, I changed my camera gear and we chilled at this beautiful spot by the river Sava Bohinjka.
One of those perfect autumn weekends, when everything turns golden. It seemed like everyone went hiking …
Steadily crossing the peaks above Pokljuka off the list one after another.
Another afternoon hike.
Starting point: Vršič Pass (1611m).
